Notes

Assigning misaligned corrective measures for performance reasons can have detrimental consequences. It's natural for a manager to conflate poor performance immediately with low skills. Use this framework to identify if it is a skill gap. If not, it could instead be that the employee is no longer engaged in their or the company's work (will) or that the company has unintentionally set up walls that prevents them from doing their best work.
